About

Creatine

Creatine is a naturally occurring organic compound comprising three amino acids found in your body. As with most of our naturally occurring elements, the production decreases as we age (think collagen), so we must take proactive measures to add what our body needs in an effort to continue to thrive and feel good in our bodies.

How does it work?

Creatine works by increasing the body's ability to make Adenosine triphosphate (ATP).  ATP is the molecule that carries energy within cells and is the main fuel source for high-intensity exercise.

This increased availability of energy can promote improvements in strength and power output, and support the brain's energy needs for enhanced cognition.

Who needs it?

Creatine Monohydrate should be used by anyone who wants to increase Strength and Endurance, Lean Muscle, and Cognition.

Recent research has also shown that Perimenopause and Menopause women have lower Creatine levels and can benefit from Creatine Monohydrate.

Vegetarians, vegans, and those on plant-based diets need more Creatine in their daily diet.

Why do you need Creatine?

Gender Differences

✔ Creatine characteristics vary between males and females.

✔ Females have 70-80% lower endogenous creatine stores than males.

✔ The menstrual cycle may influence creatine homeostasis (equilibrium/stability) due to the cyclical nature of sex hormone production.

✔ Age-related decreases in estrogen in perimenopause and menopause contributes to loss of bone and muscle mass (sarcopenia)  as well as strength (dynapenia); lower estrogen contributes to inflammation and oxidative stress and may impact muscle protein synthesis (3 research articles).

✔ Creatine supplementation has been shown to be a potential countermeasure to middle-age decreases in muscle, bone, and strength combined with strength training.*

Brain Health

Brain health can be impacted by lifestyle choices, nutrition, and physical activity (source).

✔ Creatine can play an important role in brain health and function, specifically in areas of the brain that impact cognition, attention, and memory (frontal cortex).

✔ The brain is one of the major organs for energy production in our bodies, which is why adequate creatine stores can be instrumental in supporting brain health and cognitive performance. As we age, our stored creatine levels tend to decrease.

✔ There’s also research to support that creatine supplementation may aid in increasing dopamine levels (the feel-good hormone) and improves mitochondrial function.

Muscle Health Benefits

Increases strength, power, and athletic performance without changes in body weight (source).*

✔ Supplementation with creatine monohydrate can help increase your muscles’ creatine stores (as phosphocreatine); this directly impacts ATP (energy), which allows your body to produce more ATP and can help exercise performance.*

✔ Augments lean body mass and bone composition.*

Recommended Use

Better Recovery

Both my husband and myself have been using the Creatine for about 3 weeks and have noticed an improved recovery time following our workouts. Will definitely be ordering again.

Creatine#1

Mixes well in water, no taste. The only thing I don’t like is having to reach down in the bag to get the little scoop. I always get some on my fingers, seems like a waste of product. I have noticed a slight improvement of muscle performance.

So easy to use

Creatine in this form is very easy to use. I usually add it to a protein shake or my cup of LMNT. The veins in my arms are quite a bit more noticeable and someone at the gym asked me if I use Creatine. I am 65 and maintaining muscle is my primary concern.

Like the product and consistency

I really like this product more than the creatine I had been using previously. The powder is significantly finer and blends into things much better. Also, from what I’ve read, this is a more bio-available form of creatine too. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it’s expensive. I feel like every item I get through MD logic is $40-50 and it’s hard to keep justifying spending that amount of money on every individual supplement I take.
